Deviation Actions
I continue my journey into paper folding and paper-craft more generally. I find it relaxing (when models are going well), interesting and a physical challenge that helps my fat clumsy nerve-damaged fingers work better since the spinal surgery.
I favour folds only, try to use a single piece of paper, not cut or glue it. These are not hard and fast rules, but general challenge tenets I try to adhere to.
I also, mostly, use monochrome (often white) paper - I figure if a model looks good in white it is a successful model, if it needs white or duo paper to work it is less so.
I comment when I get comment. Whilst I appreciate +Favs, they do not usually get reciprocated unless a comment accompanies it. Just so you know.
Daily Deviation
WOW! Interesting to see my Torus receiving a Daily Deviation - quite chuffed by that and I thank all who took the time to +FAV and add it to their collections. If you commented I did my best to reply. Pleased with the support and encouragement.
There is a bit of paper folding amongst my gallery, some of it (in my opinion) much more deserving of attention but there you go.
In the Fold
So a year of folding is up - I am incredibly proud that I started on January 1, 2011 and did my final fold on December 31 2011, not missing a day in between.
I would like to say it was always fun - those of you with a real life would realise that dedicating an hour + every day to something becomes tricky, especially when the + is many hours more, but in the end I learned a lot about myself and also, I think, increased my skill levels in an art form I love.
Looking back at the models from 2011, I am astonished I actually achieved some of them, certainly there are models at the end of the year that I could not have done prior to the challenge
365 Bender
So I have begun mangling paper - some of the twisted remnants are immediately recognizable, others less so.
My aim - 365 models, one per day for a year.
Wish me luck, smoke me a kipper etc...
LOVE to respond to COMMENTS, ignore random +FAVs, sorry
Return to 'Hard Craft'
A welcome return to "hard craft" in the form of glass work, and a new panel made from scraps has been a satisfying start, must resolve to do more, being creative is a cleansing thing.
Also been happy with photography recently, not that anyone here will think my images have any artistic merit.
