Artist's Comments

Lush growth flourishes in the palpable humidity at the base of a waterfall. Plants reach valiantly for light but are thwarted by the force of water - a delicious tension that makes the most beautiful greens imaginable.

Hand-held (and wet) digicam, available light, beneath a waterfall on the "Twin Falls" Circuit, Springbrook, 2009.

Comments welcome, none expected, you get that.

I really like the waterfall behind the plant, it produces an awfully nice effect, acting almost similar to rain, and I am especially fond of the way the plant takes up the majority of the picture. I am also partial to the small border; it really pulls the focus into the plant. If the plant had not taken up most of the viewing space, I do not think that it would have been a near as compelling shot. Hope my comments help for future photos!

This one is definitely my favourite from the latest four. The waterfall in the background gives such a beautiful effect, and the contrast in shadows between the water particles, the trees in the background, and the palm in the foreground are lovely.

Very nice.
