Should old acquaintances .....

I once had a friend that could comfort me when I was sad, that I told all my secrets to, that kept me company when the lights went out, that never complained or criticised me, that joined in on all my adventures, that I loved completely and unconditionally.

Meet "Ted", my bear. It was put in my cot when I was born (thanks Mum and Dad) and was with me for years. He was filled with compacted straw and used to growl when you turned him upside down, via some magical box in his tummy. I have no idea when he left my life or where he went.

Battered and loved nearly to death, minus an ear and both eyes, face caved in and with arms in tatters he was given back to me as a parent. Thanks mum.

We patched him up as best we could, gave him new eyes (he was scary without them) and my son took over custodian of this loveable relic.

43 years have battered this bear but love has sustained him through thick and thin. Love is like that.
